Guru Dutt

Guru Dutt (Vasanth Kumar Shivashankar Padukone) born on July 9, 1925 in Bangalore, Mysore, British India. He was an Indian film director, producer and actor.

He is one of the best Director ever in India.

He made classics such as Pyaasa, Kaagaz Ke Phool, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam and Chaudhvin Ka Chand.

Pyaasa and Kaagaz Ke Phool are included among the greatest films of all time, both by Time magazine's "All-TIME" 100 best movies and by the Sight & Sound critics'.

Where Dutt himself is included among the greatest film directors of all time in the list.

He found a job in Prabhat Film Company in Pune in 1944. Here, Guru Dutt met two people - actors Rehman and Dev Anand, who would remain his good friends .

Guru Dutt acted in a small role as Sri Krishna in Chand in 1944.

1946 he worked as an assistant director for P. L. Santoshi’s film, Hum Ek Hain.

Guru Dutt's first film, Navketan's Baazi, was released in 1951.

He worked himself in the movies like Pyasa, Kagaz Ke Phool, Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam, Chaudhvin Ka Chand, Mr. and Mrs. 55..

In 1953, Guru Dutt married Geeta Roy, a well-known playback singer.

In 1964 he acted in his last film Sanjh Aur Savera opposite Meena Kumari.
